Tips for Building Trust and Increasing Your BusinessPosted by Bonnie Holscher on January 17th, 2012
In the past several months, I have take a break to refocus and redirect my energy. Since then I have learned some very important and valuable tips.
First and formost, your customers will not buy from you unless they trust you. If you are unable to establish trust, you will not make sales. So, how do you build trust with those you wish to engage in your business?
Offer excellent customer service. Does not matter if you have a customer contacting you for the first time or you have an existing customer needing help, you must provide prompt and professional service.
Start a blog if you do not have one. A blog gives you the opportunity to communicate with your customers. It also gives you the opportunity to create value to your prospective customers. They can see you give away assistance for free, then have no problem getting excited to purchase other things from you.
Utilize social media sites to communicate with your customers. This is another way to build relationships and a form of trust. I use Facebook.com and Twitter.com.
Follow up with your customers. A huge number of people who come to your website are not likely to return unless you get their contact information and follow up with them. This may require offering something valuable up front for their contact information like a free report.
Don’t make the mistake of promising a lot of value in the future… Show your value now. Ways to show value now is by using newsletters, your blog, social media and again, excellent customer service.
Be accessible. This is of particular importance if you have an online business. Do not hide from your customers. Offer several ways for your customers to reach you. The more available you are, the easier it will be for people to trust you.
Don’t be afraid to get personal. If yourcustomer or client mentions an upcoming wedding or birth of a child, make note of this informationso that you can refer to it in the future. The next time you have contact, you can ask about the event.
Give your customers what they want. Help these people even if it doesn’t directly benefit you. You can do this by recommending a product that would not necessarily grant you a commission. When your customer sees that you really care about them, their trust in you will grow.
And last but certainly not least, be professional. Always maintain a professional appearance to include your marketing materials or your website. First impressions are lasting impressions.
One resource that I have just discovered and recommend to help in you with your journey to business success is Jimmy Brown’s iBusiness Owner’s Manuals. You can learn how many of the strategies available that you are currently overlooking. By recognizing these you will also learn how much more money would you make if you implemented them in your business structure.
