The first and foremost mistake being made by newbie marketers is that they do not have opt in box to build a list with. This mistake that internet business owners make is to not have a way to collect information about their visitors and potential customers. There is no way to contact them back and even thank them for the visit or find out if there is something more that you can do to make their experience on you website a win win situation. As the old saying goes in internet marketing is “The money is in the list”. An autoresponder will be one of the best investments you can make for your online business.

Another common mistake that newbie online business people do is to have a website that is too busy. Visually, there is too much going on and the visitor gets lost in all the ads and links and just stuff that they virtually can not find the content readily that they went to the website to read in the first place. They will tend to leave the website before gaining any knowledge of the author or what that author is try to say or even sell. The targeted visitor is no long interested in learning more or even revisiting the website. The key is to Keep it Simple.

One more important element for the newbie internet marketer is understand is that the autoresponder content needs to give valuable info as well as offers. Many times your subscriber is looking for more information to improve their success journey and build whatever your niche is providing information for. Offers are great and affiliate marketing is an outstanding way to create online income, but you have to provide value as well and that comes in the form of tips and information your subscriber can use along the way. With the growing popularity of social networks and the social media, publishing your articles has found a new dimension. The opportunity to get your article seen let alone read has been extended by the phenomenal growth of social networking.

Two networks on the rise and growing are the ever popular Twitter and Facebook. Not too far behind those is MySpace and several others. It is recommended that you take advantage of this opportunity and use the power provided by these networks. Your article distribution will reach outrageous proportions as well as you will make new friends and gain internet exposure.

There are a few things you must do to utilize the power of Facebook and Twitter. Once you have your Twitter account you will need to go to EzineArticles and edit your Author Bio to include your Twitter username and your Twitter URL. When your articles get approved they will automatically post to your Twitter account for all your followers to access. You can Tweet about your articles in mini-posts and refer people back to your articles that are fitting to the conversations that you are having.

People will do business with you when you are not always on the sell and on the helpfulness. You will also learn so much through your interaction with the various experts you will meet in these networks.

Writing articles has become a common occurrence when people begin to build online presence and establish credibility. There are a few very important items you must pay attention to before you publish your articles.

Although this is something most writers think they keep in mind, this common mistake happens again and again.  Always check your punctuation, your grammar and your spelling. On many occasions I have read through my material and thought that I had corrected all of the mistakes. I have later reread it or had it brought to my attention of the mistakes I did not catch. Bad spelling is a downfall for even the most successful of writers and internet marketers. Most programs do have a spell check and some have a grammar check that can be use before you submit you articles for publishing. 

 Make sure that your article is long enough to be called an article. Anything less than 300 words is more like a blogpost. This piece of writing is not long enough to give any pertinent information and probably will not be consider very seriously. On the other hand, make sure that you are not writing a book either. After a certain length, your reader will get bored or overwhelmed and will probably not finish reading nor will there be a likelihood that your reader will click on your links. Too much information is just as deadly as not enough. A good average is between 300 and 500 words.

And with that said, make sure your article is not a sales pitch only. Your article should contain good information but leave an avenue for the reader to want more information. Most readers will know when they are reading an obvious sales letter and will likely not click on your links. Every article must contain nuggets of good information to create credibility and trust from those who will read it and continue to follow you.

It is in your resource box that you can then put a link back to your blog or website. Or you can suggest or recommend other products and services that are related and that can help your reader get where he/she wants to go.

So many times you get caught in the hum drum of writing an article and feel we are just running out of steam. When you sit down it just does not seem that you can think or the ideas you had just don’t seem to flow. What you may not realize is that if you do not have a mentor or coach that you are just needing someone to bounce some thoughts off of or just some conversation to free your mind. That is when a group of 5 to 6 people will give you just what you need to break loose.

Tip number 1 for creating a mastermind group of people to learn from and support you is that the people involved should be at your level of income or making more than you. The key point is to team up with people who are already where you want to be. Many people at a higher level are more than willing to share their experiences that may otherwise not be shared. Especially with article writing there are times when sharing ideas with someone who has been writing successfully for sometime will help you through a time of discouragement.

Tip number 2 is to conduct these meetings on a regular basis, either weekly, every other week or monthly. Although in person is preferred, most mastermind groups meet over the phone. Plan at least an hour but preferably two hours for each meeting. It is recommended that for the first few meetings that each person be given at least 30 minutes to talk about their situation, needs, and challenges so that the rest of the group can effectively give feedback and brainstorm was to help. It also insure that each member gets what they need to move forward in their endeavors. With article writing, it may be an advantage to have members in several different niches to create variety in the feedback.

Tip number 3 is for each member to make a commitment to stretch and grow. There should always be a next action stated before the meeting ends from each of the members. There should also be a time to share the successes from the last meeting no matter how small they may seem. This commitment should not be a continuation of the previous goal not met. It must stretch just beyond the goal set from the meeting before so that the member must not only finish the first goal but other things just beyond the last. By doing this it is an assurance that the group in moving forward toward completing the goals they set. If you are writing articles set a clear amount of articles to be written in a specific amount of time hold you accountable to your group and affords you enough pressure to help push you through. It also brings you to a point of accountability. People tend to produce more when you set a deadline or timeline. You will more actively take steps to accomplish the tasks you set out to do. If you say you will write AND submit 5 articles, you will do what it takes to get all or most of it done before the group meets again.

Article writing does not have to be difficult. There are several groups available for mentoring or masterminding your way to success. There are also tools available to help you as well to create an effective article for whatever you happen to be writing about.

Time is something that we all have the same amount of yet some people seem to get a lot more done in that amount of time than others. Is there really a strategy to utilizing your time to the fullest? The answer is yes. There are several things you can do to increase what gets accomplished in the time you have available.

One misconception is that you will be able to get things done in your FREE time. Unfortunately there is no such thing as free time because all time is valuable and your time is precious. One tip to get you started is to find someone successful that you look up to and model after them. They got where they are for a reason. They set their priorities and organized around them to accomplish their objectives. Setting priorities also means that you need to set specific goals. These goals need to be written down so you can see them every day. Do not try to remember everything. When you write down the things that need to be done then your mind is now free to get the task itself done. If it is not worth writing down then it probably is not worth wasting your time on it.  One way to stay on top of the achievement of your goals is to keep a journal and create a celebration each time that you reach that accomplishment. 

Another important tip is to get considerably organized. Many people spend a ton of time looking through things to find the particular items they are needing to get taken care of. Stacking things for later look through or distribution will take up more time than just getting things filed or placed in organized slots to avoid the mountain of material. Lists are also a great way to keep in order the things you wish to accomplish in any given day. By the end of that day you will have a very good idea of where you will need to begin tomorrow.

Most of us have a fair amount of reading to do to stay on top of new developments or just educate ourselves a little fuller on any given subject. A good time saver tip when you read is to underline or highlight important paragraphs or sentences should you need to return to them later. It is advisable to keep those resources you need to refer back to available whenever you need them. Highlighting makes quick and easy access to previously read material. When you have errands to run or places you need to go to for business, find a place or errand in similar proximity to avoid going back and forth several times. This will increase the usability of your time more effect. Keep in mind though, that people or circumstances will keep you waiting from time to time. Do the best you can to utilize that time by having a book or CD handy while you are waiting. Find ways to avoid letting other people waste your time. Learning how to say “No” is very difficult for some people. If you can’t say no, be hard to find for a while. Learn how to say “Thank You” but at this time I am unable or I have another obligation. What ever it is that keeps you from assisting the other person, let them know that you are not available. But make sure you are honest, sincere and firm with your statement. Learn how to let others know exactly where you stand and that your time is very important to you.

And last but certainly not least is to “Do It Right The First Time” How many time have you cut corners to get something done quicker only to have to do it a second time? So how much time did you save by cutting the corner? Exactly! None, as a matter of fact it cost you twice as much time in the long run.

Time can be utilized to its fullest if you take only a few steps to get started.
